SATURDAY, JUNE 6
Cows on the Concourse
Capitol Square, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
June is Dairy Month and what better way to celebrate than to bring the whole family to meet and greet cows and baby calves from local dairy farms?! Located just off the Capitol Square during the Farmer’s Market, this is a free and family-friendly event with live music, great food and fun games.
 
SATURDAY, JUNE 6
Mad City Bazaar
Parking lot of Washington Plaza, 1800 E. Washington, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The first and third weekend of every month from May through September, Madison’s Urban Pop-Up Flea Market features the area’s finest makers, collectors and small batch producers. Local food carts, collectibles, crafts, park activities, DJs, buskers, vintage recyclables and much more! Beginning June 4 pop-up markets will also be held from 12 – 7 p.m. at the top of State Street.
 
SATURDAY, JUNE 6
Book and Bake Sale
Goodman South Madison Library, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Beginning Friday, June 5 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., this annual summer book, bake and AV sale is a great way to start summer entertainment or find gifts! Find new or good-as-new books, DVDs, CDs and delicious baked goods. There will be a special Bag Sale on Saturday from 12 – 2 p.m., where you get all you can fit into a paper grocery bag for only $5!
 
SUNDAY, JUNE 7
The Fun-Raiser 8
Tenney Park, 4 – 9 p.m.
Join this party featuring great music and food to support and raise money for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Music by 4th Coast (Funk), The No Name String Band (Bluegrass), Kilarny Blarney (Celtic), and the Handphibians (Brazilian percussion). Free, all ages.
 
SUNDAY, JUNE 7
The Color Run
Alliant Energy Center (Willow Island), start line window opens at 9 a.m.
Join in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet!” The Color Run celebrates healthy, happiness, and individuality with music, dancing, warmup stretching, giveaways and blasting everyone with paint!
 
SUNDAY, JUNE 7
Annual African American Student Recognition
Madison College Truax Campus Auditorium, 1:30 p.m.
The Madison Metropolitan Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will present its annual African American Student Recognition Program. This year’s theme is “Empowering Students Through Education.” Recognition program for elementary students starts at 1:30 p.m. and for middle and high school students at 3:15 p.m.
 
THURSDAY, JUNE 11
Cuatrista Christian Nieves and Herencia Musical
The Cardinal Bar, 5 – 8 p.m.
Combining Puerto Rican jíbaro music with plena and bomba, along with pop and jazz influences, Herencia Musical is a legendary group that spans two generations of family. They will also be playing at the Marquette Waterfront Festival on June 13. $10 cover.

Living in Your Dream & Passion 
DreamBank Madison, 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. 
Hosted by Sabrina “Progress” Madison, this free workshop helps to identify your passion and begin the work of building and living your dream. “Sometimes we find ourselves unhappy because we aren’t living the lives we want to live. Finding and living your passion can feel out of reach, but it doesn’t have to be. Your dreams belong to you. Get present in them!” says the host. Water Stewardship Celebration Picnic
Wingra Boats, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This bilingual, family-friendly event includes a picnic, free boat rentals, a community art project and lots of games. The event is free and open to the public but registration is required. Contact volunteer@cmctoday.org or call 608-441-1180.
 
THURSDAY, JUNE 11
Festa Junina: Gandwana Edition
High Noon Saloon, 8:30 p.m.
Festa Junina (Portuguese for “June Festival”) is a traditional northern Brazilian holiday that’s celebrated with lots of music, food, and drinks. Musical acts include Metabaque, Grupo Balança, Madison Choro Ensemble, Otimo Madison Brazilian Dance, Madison Afrobeat Ensemble and the Samba Novistas. $10 in advance and $12 at the door, 21+.
