Seven Madison Schools to Join Community Eligibility Provision

August 19, 2014

By Rachel Strauch-Nelson

MADISON —Seven schools in the Madison Metropolitan School District will now offer free healthy school breakfasts and lunches to all students on regular school days, as part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program. The program will begin at the start of the upcoming school year.
“We are pleased that we will be able to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students in some of our schools with the highest need,” Superintendent Jennifer Cheatham said. “Through the CEP, we’ll be able to reduce the administrative burden on families and ensure that every child has access to nutritious meals.”
Through the CEP Program, the following schools and alternative programs will offer free breakfast and lunch for all students:

Allis Elementary School
Falk Elementary School
Lakeview Elementary School
Leopold Elementary School
Mendota Elementary School
Sherman Middle School
Wright Middle School
