This is a professional engineering position with work performed in the office and/or field in connection with the administration of erosion control & storm water treatment permitting and plan review and approval. The work is performed under the general direction and coordination of the Sewer Section Principal Engineer and other senior staff in the Sewer section.
Duties and responsibilities include: Review and approve private and public erosion control and stormwater management plans for compliance with local ordinances, state codes and special conditions; Conduct field inspections of the erosion control, storm water and storm water treatment systems; and Receive approvals for, design, bid, and inspect more complex engineering designs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include: Working knowledge of civil engineering design, specifically storm sewer, site drainage, erosion control, stormwater management; Working knowledge of and ability to use computer software applicable to the duties of the position, including spreadsheets, word processing, and Accela.
Training and Experience: Degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or other closely related degree from an accredited college or university. Other combinations of demonstrable training and/or experience resulting in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
