Position Open: Director of Assessment and Testing at UW Madison School of Medicine

DIRECTOR OF TESTING & ASSESSMENT

The Medical Education Office at the UW School of Medicine & Public Health (SMPH) is seeking a Director of Testing and Assessment. This position will lead the development and implementation of a competency-based assessment system that aligns with the medical student curriculum. The Director will work collaboratively with faculty and members of the Medical Education Office to continually improve assessment practices.

Master’s degree in education, educational or cognitive psychology, or related areas is the minimal requirement. PhD or equivalent terminal degree is strongly preferred. A minimum of 3 years work experience in assessment is required with a strong preference to prior experience in health professional assessment. Experience in providing professional development of assessor skills is preferred. Expertise in workplace-based assessments or assessment methods that evaluate skills, behaviors and attitudes is highly desired.

Principal duties include overseeing the implementation of all SMPH competency-based assessments; faculty development and consultation to promote best practices and policies in assessment for SMPH course and clerkship directors; supervision, oversight and problem solving.

Full Time Salary Rate: Negotiable, ANNUAL (12 months)
