Land and Water Resources Department to host public information meeting for update on Stewart County Park projects

April 1, 2014

By Dane County Executive

MADISON — Dane County Parks has recently been working on planning and development for a number of new projects at Stewart County Park.  Some of the projects that will be coming soon include a new picnic shelter, additional parking areas, and an accessible beach route.
“Recent upgrades to Stewart County Park could not have happened without the support of many partners,” said County Executive Joe Parisi.  “Dane County wishes to express sincere appreciation to the Mount Horeb Rotary Club, Mount Horeb High School students, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the family of Jenni and Kyle Guerkink, the Madison Community Foundation and the Village of Mount Horeb for their contributions toward the new accessible fishing pier, lake restoration efforts, the beach and shelter building.”
Dane County Land and Water Resources staff will be hosting a public information meeting to present proposed park and lake improvements and answer questions on Thursday, April 10, 7 p.m. at the State Bank of Cross Plains Upper Level Meeting Room, 1740 Bus. Hwy. 18-151 E, Mount Horeb, WI  53572.
