Embrace Your Journey

March 18, 2016

brown-girl-green-money-logoby Matiya Hill

Matiya-HillWelcome back to Brown Girl, Green Money and thank you for your continuous support. Over the weekend I was able to spend about 16 hours of much needed quality time with my childhood girlfriends. Yes, we went on a long ROADTRIP! That eventful 16 hours consisted of listening to every genre of music known to man, joking, laughing, “seat dancing,” and story/advice swapping. My friends and I have similar life and financial goals – but we’re accomplishing those goals in different ways. In this post I want to share what I learned on our road trip and why I am embracing “my” financial journey and not focusing on anyone else’s.

At times, we all compare ourselves to our peers, and I must say I have been guilty of that in the past. My friends and I are at different stages in our lives but we’re always able to pull together and give helpful advice. Here are a few tips that we keep in mind when pursuing our goals:

Share your goals with others for mutual accomplishment.

Set a date that you want to accomplish your goals. Focus on the positive you reach and leave the negative aside.

Ask for feedback & surround yourself with helpful people.

Write your goals down and make it plain.

Stay focused and consistent!

Always believe in yourself!

So again to all of the BGGM readers out there always remember to embrace your journey. At times you may not see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s there. My personal financial journey has been a tough road but it’s getting easier and I am learning new things every day. Lastly, continue to push forward and strive to reach your goals daily. What have you done to embrace your personal journey? We would love to hear tips from you! Also, please like our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/browngirlgreenmoney and we will be venturing over to Instagram very soon.
