The first member of his family to receive a master's degree, Her graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with an MS in Applied Physics. He was also the first member of his family to study abroad, attending Trinity College in Carmarthen, Wales. In addition to his many activities, Her is married and is the proud father of three children. In his spare time, Her enjoys the outdoors going canoeing, camping, fishing, and hiking in his backyard, known to Madisonians as Cherokee Marsh.
