100 Black Men breakfast

On Saturday, May 10, the 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc. will host the fourth annual Outstanding Educators and Mentors Appreciation Breakfast from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at Quarles & Brady LLP, 33 E. Main Street, 9th Floor, Madison, WI 53703.  At this event, those who have made positive differences in the lives of our children will be recognized and celebrated.
 
Criteria for Outstanding Educator Nominations include:
Demonstrates strong ability to foster excellence in education as evidenced by ongoing contributions to the improvement of African American student learning and the learning environment for African American youth;
Demonstrates leadership in educational development of African American youth, locally or statewide and/or at a national level, both within or out of the school setting;
Displays exemplary interpersonal skills in communicating with African American students, parents, administrators, community members, and professional colleagues; and
Engages African American parents/families as partners in the learning process to enhance student achievement.
Criteria for Outstanding Mentor Nominations include:
Involved in one-on-one mentoring activity(ies) with an African American youth (age 4-18 years);
Has provided guidance and positive experiences to an African American mentee and has encouraged excellence in education and the pursuit of a positive life – long goals; and
Displays exemplary interpersonal skills in communicating with African American youth, parents, administrators, community members and professional colleagues
