MADISON — Centro Hispano of Dane County will hold its 25th annual Celebration at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center Friday, Nov. 21, 6-11 p.m.
The event will be hosted by leaders in the Latino community including Lucia Nuñez, director of the Office of Civil Rights for the City of Madison and former Centro Hispano executive director, and Luis Yudice from the Madison Metropolitan School District. The event will feature scholarships and awards to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of local youth and community leaders.
Centro’s 25th annual Celebration will also include a cocktail hour, dinner, and performances by traditional Mexican dance group “Danztrad” and musical groups Tierra Libre from Central America and Group Danela from Puerto Rico.

Centro Hispano works to improve the quality of life for Latinos and others living in Dane County by empowering youth, strengthening families, and engaging the community. Currently, Centro’s largest program area is our academic support and youth development work with Latino youth. Centro’s goal is to see Latino youth prepared to succeed in life by finishing high school, being prepared for post-secondary education and engaging positively in their communities. While youth are our future, Centro does not forget that youth cannot succeed without strong families. For this reason, Centro continues to provide vital workforce development and social service programming for adults.
Since its beginnings in 1983, Centro Hispano has provided a range or programs and services that support Dane County’s Latino population. Throughout the years, the needs of the Latino population have changed, and today, their programs focus on youth, families and the community.
