Donated dresses may be dropped at area Klinke Cleaners Feb. 8 – 20, 2016.
The Junior League of Madison seeks to empower women to make a difference in their communities through direct service to those in need. They are a 100% volunteer organization that focuses on causes that promote healthy kids and healthy families through education and service.
Each year, Junior League of Madison hosts All Dressed Up, a free event where area high school girls are given an opportunity to “shop” for a free prom dress and accessories provided from donations within our community. Many of the girls may not otherwise have a chance to attend their prom due to financial limitations.
According to Junior League president Nicole Kutter Donny, this event shows the generosity of the greater Madison community. “We are certainly proud to organize this event each year that benefits more than 300 girls,” says Donny. “But we couldn’t do it without the amazing participation of every single person who donates a dress, a pair of shoes, accessories, or volunteers the day of the event. I’m honored and humbled by the number of people who make this possible.”
In addition to Klinke Cleaners, the Madison Sewing Guild generously donates their time, Madison College donates the space, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK donates moving services, Celebrations Entertainment provides volunteers and Hovde Properties donates storage space to make this possible – not to mention the dozens of area women who work as “celebrity shoppers” to help the girls select dresses.
