MADISON — Isthmus is pleased to welcome Shalini Kantayya and Naomi Davis as keynote speakers for Isthmus Green Day, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in downtown Madison.
Isthmus Green Day, now in its seventh year, is an environmentally focused festival celebrating sustainability and healthy living through informative exhibits, product demonstrations, educational activities, fascinating speakers, shopping opportunities, and more. Thousands of visitors are expected.
Shalini Kantayya is a Brooklyn, NY-based eco-activist and filmmaker. Her film, A Drop of Life, explores the fight for water rights in Africa, and the water crisis currently impacting millions around the world. Naomi Davis is a celebrated environmentalist, activist, and urban theorist, based in Chicago. The author of The 12 Propositions of Grannynomics and The 8 Principles of Green-Village-Building, Davis is also the founder of Blacks in Green, a leader in green economic development for communities of color.
