MADISON —The Goodman Community Center has pledged to provide 3,000 families in Dane County with ingredients for a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal. With just under two weeks to completely fill baskets for registered families, the Goodman Community Center needs more food.
The most critical items are turkeys, gravy, canned fruit and vegetables, cranberry sauce and stuffing. Cash donations are encouraged so we may purchase fresh produce and turkeys from our local grocers that have generously given us discounted rates.
Please bring your donations to the Goodman Community Center as soon as possible. We are accepting donations through Monday, Nov. 24.
Here’s what’s needed:
• 2,500 Frozen Turkeys*
• 2,500 Fried Onions, cans
• 5,000 Vegetables, cans
• 2,500 Mac and Cheese, boxes
• 5,000 Fruit, cans
• 2,500 Cream Soup, cans
• 5,000 Green Beans, cans
• 2,500 Cranberry Sauce, cans
• 2,500 Broth, any kind, cans 1,300 Stuffing, boxes
• 2,500 Gravy, jars 2,500 Aluminum roaster pans
*Please bring in frozen turkeys starting Wednesday, Nov. 19.
When and where to bring food donations:
Now through Tuesday, Nov. 18, bring your donations to the main entrance of the Center.
» 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Center can receive donations during any open hours and large quantities of foods can be delivered directly to the Goodman Community Center gym.
The gym will be open for donation drop-offs from Wednesday, Nov. 19 through Monday, Nov. 24.

The Goodman Community Center is one of the busiest community centers in Dane County. The center offers many programs to strengthen the lives of preschoolers through teens, meals and social activities for older adults, a food pantry, a gymnasium and fitness center, café, catering and community space.
