Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness to host its 3rd Annual Wear Red Day Photo Shoot

January 28, 2014

The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness will host its 3rd Annual Wear Red Day Photo Shoot on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Urban League of Greater Madison.

Established in June 2012, The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness is a Wisconsin based non-profit organization committed to empowering Black women and girls to build and sustain healthy, thriving, wellness-centered lives.  Its core mission is to eliminate health disparities and other barriers impacting the lives of women of African descent, and to establish a culture of wellness among women through education, outreach, and support circles.

The 3rd annual National Wear Red Day event is free. Proudly wear your red best in honor of the fight against heart disease. Heart disease remains the number one cause of death of Americans and of women and is the leading cause of death among black women.

For more information about the event, e-mail Lisa Peyton-Caire at lmpcaire@gmail.com.
