Call for Women of Distinction Leadership Award

December 11, 2013

MADISON —  The annual YWCA Women of Distinction awards are Madison’s opportunity to honor and recognize women who exhibit leadership skills in their field of expertise. The YWCA Madison invites the community to nominate the next group of honorees to join the more than 195 remarkable Women of Distinction who have been honored in the past 40 years.
Women of Distinction nominations can be made using the YWCA’s nomination form, now available at www.ywcamadison.org/distinction. Paper copies of the form are also available at the YWCA, located at 101 E. Mifflin Street, or by calling Kristy at 257-1436, option 2. Nominations are due to the YWCA by Wednesday, January 23, 2014, at 4 p.m.
The awards will be presented on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at The Monona Terrace, during the 2nd annual Moxie Conference. A list of the past Women of Distinction honorees is available at www.ywcamadison.org/academy.
This year’s Moxie Conference will feature keynote speaker JoAnne Brandes, Retired, Executive Vice President, CAO and General Counsel, Johnson Diversey, Inc.  Ms. Brandes keynote will focus on Courageous Leadership: Creating a High-Performing Culture of Trust. The conference will feature breakout sessions from local leaders.  The full conference lineup will be announced in early 2014, but several breakout sessions are already confirmed. Learn more at www.ywcamadison.org/moxie.
