Fourth annual Africa Night will feature Drum Power

MADISON — The 4th Annual Africa Night performance featuring Drum Power students will take place at Mills Concert Hall in the UW-Madison Humanities Building on Friday, May 22.
Drum Power students are city-wide students ranging from 2nd to 8th grade.  Students develop musical and life skills including leadership, respect for self and others, and the rewards of hard but fun work. The program is directed by Yorel Lashley and services Madison Metropolitan Schools includes Lowell and advanced drummers from O’Keefe Middle School.
The event, which costs $10 for adults and $5 for children, will raise funds to support the completion of the Gbefi Library in Ghana that began at last year’s event as well as Drum Power programs in Madison Public Schools. The performance will feature professional guest artists.
