It’s that time of year again. The air is becoming cool and dry, the leaves are changing… It’s finally Hispanic Heritage Month! It’s also October, but that’s not really the point here. Historically speaking, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th because September 15th and the days surrounding it mark the Independence Day anniversaries of seven different Latin American countries. We at The Madison Times will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month all October long by publishing a number of pieces highlighting Latin@ culture in Madison.
